Here is a list of the most common ordinances that are violated:
6-1 - Junk Acumulation

6-1-1 - Abandoned Vehicles

6-1-2 - Unsafe Structures Buildings or Private Property

6-1-3 - Junk Acumulation Removal and Costs

6-1-4- Removal of Weeds & Rank Veditation (Tall Grass, A person's grass cannot be over 7 inches tall)
6-2 - Regulating Recepticals Barricades or Decreative Items (Nothing may be placed between the road and the sidewalk on any property)

6-3 - Offensive Odors

6-4 - Burning of trash (A person may only burn such items as, yard waste and may only be burned during daylight hours).

1997-5 - An Ordanance Requiring House Numbers on All Residential and Business Real Estate Located in The Town Of Goodland. ( Numbers must be on address side of the house and must be visable from the street.

1997-4
- An Ordinance that regulates Parking of Farm Machinery, Semi Tractors and trailers In Residential Areas Within The Town Of Goodland.
(a) No Person, firm, or coporation shall park a farm machine, truck; semi-tractor and or tailer having a gross weight in excess of ten thousand (10,000) pounds in a residential area within the corporate limits of the Town of Goodland for a continuous period of more than four (4) hours within any twenty four (24) hour period, unless said farm machine, truck semi-tractor and/or trailer
(1) Is parked in the municiple parking lot located on Union St. between Newton St. and Iriquois St.
(2) Is providing service to or on behalf of the Town Of Goodland; or
(3) Is being used in the construction of an improvment to real estate within six (6) months of the date that the building permit was issued for said improvment.

1998-6 - Curfew
(A) It is a curfew violation for a child under 18 years of age to be in a public place:
(1) On Sunday thru Thursday between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m
(2) On Friday and Saturday between the hours of 11:00 p.m and 5:00 a.m.
It is a defense to this ordinance that a child is accompanied by parent, returning from a school function, religious event or lawful employment.

8-3 - Guns, Slingshots, Bow and arrows etc.
It is unlawful for any person to discharge any guns, pistol target gun, toy gun or the using of any slingshot or throwing any stones or other missles within the entire corporate limits of the Town Of Goodland.

2-2 - Dogs, Cats
It shall be unlawful to let your animals:
(1) Run at large or to be found off the premises
(2) Nuisance (uncontrolled Barking etc.)
The Town of Goodland adopted Newton Countys Animal Control's Ordinances in 1988.

1998-2 - Vicious Dog Ordinance
Every Person that resides within the town limits of the Town of Goodland, Indiana, who possesses the following animals:
The specific canine breeds of Dobermans, Pit Bull, Chow, and Rotweiler, or any mixed breed of dog which have been known to have bitten, or otherwise physically molest or inflict a personal injury upon a human being without provocation, or an animal who promicuously attacts other animals, shall do the following:
1. Anually register your animal
2. Pay a $20 fee per household
3. Maintain liability insurance in the minimum amount of $200,000 which would cover such bite or attacks.
4. Prove at registration the animal has been inoculated against rabies.
5. Sign an agreement that would allow the town clerk to contact owner's insurance to ensure that the insurance is maintained.
6. Continiously maintain such animal(s) within a fenced enclosure measuring at least six foot in height, to securely confine such animals.
7. When animals are taken from the enclosure, the animal must be restrained and muzzled.
